Problem
School districts across the US and Canada rely on tightly coupled planning, dispatch, communications, and parent-facing apps. Regressions in any one surface ripples through daily operations — so test coverage and UI stability are product features, not niceties.
Role
Front-end engineer contributing across the AlphaRoute monorepo (AlphaPlan, AlphaStop, AlphaView, AlphaCore, AlphaComm, AlphaPortal, Alpha-Coach, Alpha-School): Google Maps, MQTT live tracking, Highcharts visualizations, and Cypress automation.
Approach
Treated E2E as a first-class reliability layer — expanding and stabilizing Cypress coverage while shipping dispatch and planning UI. Proprietary fleet modules stay under NDA; the public story focuses on suite scope, maps/real-time skills, and measurable test health.
Outcome
Raised AlphaPlan Cypress coverage to 1,108 passing tests across 136 spec files, sharply reducing nightly failures while keeping 10+ production Angular apps shipping for route planning, live dispatch, communications, parent portals, and driver training.
